Y'z Dock

Y'z Dock is a program toolbar, very much like the dock in MacOS X. It is no longer being updated but still has a very large user base. The application had huge interest when it was first released, but due to a cease and desist order from Apple, the author has had to stop development. To add icons, drag and drop a file (.exe, shortcut, etc.) straight from Explorer to the dock area. In order to delete an icon, drag and drop the icon out of dock. Place the PNG images for your icons in the icons folder. Right-click on the icons in the dock, choose 'Property' and choose your icons images there. Right-click anywhere on your dock background and choose 'Setting' to change the settings that apply to the dock itself. The clock and the trash bin have not implemented.

NCH Orion File Recovery

Orion File Recovery Software, from NCH, gives the user the chance to recover and undelete lost files, or to simply and permanently erase data. Orion simply hunts your hard drive, and any other portable or external drive connected to your computer, for deleted files. After that you can filter results by file type or name, folder and other options. Through Orion File Recovery you will also be able to overwrite deleted files to prevent future recovery. It can also wipe entire hard drives, flash drives and more. Overall, NCH’s software provides a straightforward and effective tool to recover or delete important files. Operating on Windows, this program has already gained great reviews for its efficiency and practical approach.

TreeSize

TreeSize Free is a useful app that makes managing your disk space easy, by providing accurate views of how much space any given group of files is taking up on your computer. You can start TreeSize Free from the context menu of a folder or drive. It shows you the size of this folder, including its subfolders. If you need to see more info regarding any subfolders, you can expand folders and can see the size of every subfolder. Key Features Include: Locate disk space issues. Monitor free space on mobile devices. Detailed overview. TreeSize Free is pretty versatile as it is able to scan hard drives and mobile devices via MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) and WebDAV. It is also able to scan network shares and cloud drives. As TreeSize Free uses the MTF (Master File Table) for local NTFS drives, it guarantees ultra-fast, secure scans. You can easily navigate folders and their sizes by key, color coded visualisation bars. The interface is clean and fresh showing you a stack of data including NTFS compression rates. The column view offers detailed information about files and folders including size, occupied disk space, number of files, last access, and owner. Overall, this handy little utility occupies minimal disk space, uses a small amount of system resources and has an intuitive interface on standard and touch enabled devices.

MyUninstaller

MyUninstaller is an uninstaller utility that provides an alternative to the standard Add/Remove Programs function of the Windows operating system. MyUninstaller displays a list of all installed applications and then allows you to uninstall an application, delete an uninstall entry, and also save the list of all installed applications into a text file or HTML file for later use. A great feature of MyUninstaller is that it provides some key additional information for most installed applications, which the standard Add/Remove Programs function doesn't display. Simply enter your chosen password, select your destination folder and begin the encryption process. With Encrypt Care you can perform multiple tasks with checksums, including generating a checksum of any text or file, export checksums to .TXT file or copy to clipboard. You can also generate hash for multiple files, and verify checksums as well. Key Features include: Encrypt and decrypt text and messages. Encrypt and decrypt files photos, documents, and apps. Generate and verify checksum of text and file. Generate and export checksums for multiple files. Supports various algorithms such as AES, Blowfish, CAST, DES, IDEA, RC2, RC4, TEA. Overall, Encrypt Care is a good, all round encryption solution. It is an easy to use, yet powerful app that will protect the contents of your files and encrypt your text messages. The only downside we could find is that you are not able to set a master password that can be used for all encryptions. However, with some useful tools such as batch mode and checksum verification, Encrypt Care is a handy utility to own.

GoodSync for Windows

GoodSync for Windows is an easy, secure, and reliable way to automatically synchronize and back up your photos, MP3s, and important files. Backing-up and/or synchronizing your critical documents is an easy affair, with tasks that can be scheduled using a variety of Google Drive, Amazon S3, and SkyDrive supportautomatic options. Overall, GoodSync for Windows is a powerful file synchronization app. It offers cross platform availability and currently available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The app lets you backup and sync files to any number of locations, including online storage, other computers, and even mobile devices. The only downside we can see, is that it has no compression or encryption options.

GeekUninstaller

GeekUninstaller is a fast and effective software uninstaller. Overall, GeekUninstaller is a lightweight product, which is a really useful tool that can uninstall unwanted applications with ease. It has a simple interface and it delivers well on both features and performance.
