Google Drive for Desktop

The Google Backup and Sync tool replaces the Google Drive and Google Photos desktop uploader. This tool allows users to sync videos, photos and all manner of files from various internal and external storage sources. Google Backup and Sync does not replace the apps, rather the change is the way users can upload their data on to the cloud and use it offline. Google's Backup and Sync is a place where you can create, share, collaborate, and keep all of your stuff. DVD Shrink

DVDShrink is software to backup DVD discs. You can use this software in conjunction with DVD burning software of your choice, to make a backup copy of any DVD video disc. DVDShrink will also burn your backup DVD, if you have installed the latest version of Nero. If you already possess alternative burning software and prefer to stick with it, then you can still use DVD Shrink. The output from DVDShrink can be saved as files on your hard drive, which you can then burn with software of your choice. Why Use DVDShrink? Most DVDs are designed to prevent you from making copies. The first preventative measure is encryption. Commercial DVD titles are often encrypted, which prevents you from either copying them to your hard drive, or if you manage to do so, being able to play the resulting files. DVDShrink overcomes this problem with built-in decryption algorithms. The next problem is not so easy. Most DVD video titles are simply too large to fit, without modification, onto a single recordable DVD-R disk. DVDShrink overcomes this problem by compressing or "shrinking" the data from your original DVD. DVDShrink also allows you to re-author your DVD. You can make your own compilation from one or more source DVDs, or select only the parts of a DVD which you intend to view, thus preserving more space on your backup for the highest quality viewing. SyncToy

SyncToy, a free PowerToy for Microsoft Windows, is an easy to use, highly customizable program that helps users to do the heavy lifting involved with the copying, moving, and synchronization of different directories. Most common operations can be performed with just a few clicks of the mouse, and additional customization is available without additional complexity. SyncToy can manage multiple sets of folders at the same time; it can combine files from two folders in one case, and mimic renames and deletes in another case. Unlike other applications, SyncToy actually keeps track of renames to files and will make sure those changes get carried over to the synchronized folder.

Note:limitation applies to low-cost phones which do not have a PC-interface and Symbian based handsets that require the PC-Suite to be installed first and therefore this limits the connection with the app via USB.

If not, thanks for your time, what follows is probably not for you. What Express Scribe is good for, is professional typists or anyone else who wants to type audio playbacks. Installation is easy, the interface is simple to use and easy to master. Express Scribe has also been designed from the ground up to work with USB foot pedals, so if you own one, compatibility should be assured. If you don’t have a foot pedal to hand, there are shortcut ‘hot’ keys you can use instead, and using these also works well. Key Fatures: Supports audio and video playback. Screeny is a uniquely versatile and powerful screen capture and desktop recording program that is free for personal use. That's right, free, completely, for personal use. It's also quite brilliant. Of course, while we here at FileHippo.com love free software, we really, really, really love it when the free stuff is better than some of the software tools out there you have to pay money for. And Screeny is really, really good. Just to clarify, we don't mean really good for free software, we actually just mean it's really good. Screeny isn't just another Windows Snipping tool that captures full screen and active windows or parts of your computer screen. Of course, it does do that, but Screeny is so much more. As well as full-screen and rectangular captures, it can also grab circle, DOS windows freehand selections, scrolling areas, menu structures, Windows objects (regions, windows, controls) and an awful lot more besides. Essentially, whatever you want to capture on your PC or laptop, you can. But it's the after effects where Screeny really shines. You can add shadows, border effects, captions, watermarks and a wide selection of other options as well. Screeny also comes with an editor and paint tool as standard, that allows you to annotate to your heart's content, and things like arrows, question marks, ticks and a load of objects that are similar to the now defunct Microsoft clip-art. Your screen captured images can be saved in a large number of formats including all the usual image files and the always useful PDF. Captured images can be sent via email or opened in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Screeny also really shines in one other area, and that's the ability to record your desktop, complete with audio. It's really good as well. Additionally, the built-in whiteboard is excellent for creating presentations in an instant, and allows you to save the files as AVI. Well designed and lots, and lots of options. Built-in editor and paint tool. Overall, Screeny is a brilliant, free, powerful screenshot tool with a huge amount if utility, with a near staggering number of things it lets you do.

FOCA

FOCA is an useful security testing tool, which lets you find out more about a website by analyzing the metadata in the documents that it makes available. FOCA is very easy to use. All you need to do is create a new document pointing FOCA Free at your website. Click the Search All button, and the app will display all of the Microsoft Office and Open Office documents, including PDFs and other documents on the site, which have been indexed by Google, Bing and Exalead. This is useful for numerous reasons, not to mention exposing any documents that were never intended for public viewing. Supported formats include: .DOC .DOCX .PDF .PPT .PPS .XLS .XLSX .ODT .ODS .ODS .SVG FOCA can download the documents, extract their metadata, and then summarise the results in a simple report that is easy to understand. The outcome depends upon numerous factors, including what app was used in their creation etc. But more often than not you confined info about user names, network folders, printer names, and email addresses. All of which can be maliciously used by hackers.
