Midori
Midori is a fast, lightweight and easy to use web browser. The interface is minimalistic and uncluttered, providing you with exactly what you need; the core navigation buttons to surf the Internet. Apart from the simplistic style, Midori does have a few cool features worth noting. The Speed Dial site launcher screen and the default Duck Duck Go search engine, to name a couple. There is also an RSS icon in the address bar, for when your chosen feeds are available. By default, your tabs from your last session are reopened when you next use Midori, and the app does feature some helpful built-in privacy tools, including script disabling, and third-party cookie blocking. It also has an integrated ad-blocker and cookie manager installed with the included extensions. As far as speed goes, Midori really is, quite a fast web browser, utilizing the latest web technologies and a tiny, yet agile array of extensions, which provide most of the features that you need in a basic browser. Navigating the app is child’s play, and it won’t take you long to locate all the features; bookmarks, history and download management, private browsing etc. The only downsides we could see were with the Import Bookmarks tool. This will not locate and use your other browsers’ data, it imports from an XBEL or HTML file only.The extension support is, likewise, very limited as well. If you are looking for extensive preferences or settings to tweak around with, then this isn’t the browser you are looking for. Overall, if you are a power user, then keep clear. If, however, you need bare bones web browsing, Midori will provide you with a lightweight, trimmed web browser that is quick and easy to use.
Brackets
Brackets is an open-source code editor that has been specifically designed for working in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and subsequently has been built in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Brackets comes with a crisp user interface in the form of Quick Edit. This is where you can put context-specific code and edit with inline tools, instead of cluttering up your coding environment with various panels and icons. Brackets also has a really useful feature called Live Preview, which works directly with your browser in order to push code edits instantly. You can jump back and forth between your source code and the browser view to see your changes. Brackets is a solid editor and has everything you need for working with files and directories, and creating new files. The code completion features let you quickly assemble apps without knowing the exact syntax. If you need assistance code syntax and code options, then the Quick Edit option provides help along the way. Brackets also offers a strong extension framework. There are numerous extensions available, which can be browsed and installed via the Extension Manager, located in the File menu or by clicking the icon in the upper right corner of the main interface. Overall, Brackets is a pleasure to code with. The interface is easy to navigate, and the extensions offer a variety of options. The Live Preview option is a really helpful tool, because you get instant feedback on any changes to your code. According to Adobe, best of all, because Brackets is open source, and built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, by using it, you can help to build the best code editor for the web (if you want).
Baidu Browser
Baidu Browser (formerly Baidu Spark Browser) is based on Chromium, the same engine which runs Google Chrome. Although Baidu Browser has a standard design, it does have some nice features such as changeable skins and a good user interface. The app has a nice integration with Facebook as well as features for downloading videos, screenshot capture, torrent download, open downloads manager, and account protection. One helpful feature is the sidebar. This gives you quick access to bookmarks and downloads, a zoom function to enlarge or shrink the page, and a widget for Facebook. The really cool feature though, is the ability to use gestures with the mouse to accomplish specific actions, such as closing or opening a new tab, or navigating forwards and backwards. The downside is that you can't create new customized gestures. Key features include: Media Downloader. Browser Doctor. Full-Page Screenshots. Mouse Gestures. Account Syncing. Baidu Browser also has some nice security features. It comes with a built-in virus scanner and an adware block. There is also an extra function, which prevents other apps from modifying your existing security and privacy settings. Overall, Baidu Browser is a good looking browser with some cool features such as the gesture controls and media downloader. The setup is very similar to Chrome and the Facebook integration works very well. The sidebar is also a useful tool that isn't too intrusive.v
